Brown Mackie College — Hopkinsville opened its doors in 1995 as RETS Medical & Business Institute, a branch of RETS Institute of Technology, Louisville, Kentucky.

In 2003, Pittsburgh-based Education Management Corporation (EDMC) acquired the parent corporation of RETS Medical & Business Institute. In November 2004, RETS Medical & Business Institute changes its name to Brown Mackie College — Hopkinsville.

Brown Mackie College — Hopkinsville occupies a spacious building which has been specifically designed to provide a comfortable and effective environment for learning. The facility comprises approximately 11,250 square feet, including six classrooms, a medical laboratory, an electronics laboratory, three computer laboratories, an academic resource center, administrative and faculty offices, a bookstore, and a student lounge. Computer equipment for hands-on learning includes three networked laboratories. Medical equipment includes monocular and binocular microscopes, electrocardiograph, autoclave, centrifuge, and other equipment appropriate to hands-on laboratory and clinical instruction. Convenient parking is available to all students.
